ALBANIA - CLIMATE CHANGE PROGRAMME / UNIT
Training Workshop on Institutional and Legal Aspects of the Carbon Financing in Albania”

	29 February 2008 - A one day training workshop on institutional and legal aspects of the carbon financing in Albania was organized by Climate Change Program in the frame of the Project: "Building capacities to access carbon financing in Albania". The project is funded by the Austrian Government and implemented through UNDP. The workshop aimed to presenting and discussing with the key relevant stakeholders a package of recommendations on legal and institutional settings that would make the architecture of the Albania's Designated National Authority (DNA). A hands -on training which consisted on a step-by-step evaluation of two real CDM projects against the proposed/recommended sustainable development (SD) criteria has been carried out during the second part of the workshop. The workshop contributed also to increasing the level of awareness on CDM and DNA related aspects such as Albania’s potential to deliver CDM projects, the role of DNA, problems and barriers identified, current status and trends for CDM in Albania.
