– The UNDP/GEF Climate Change Programme/Unit
has organized a two days’ awareness raising event on
climate change issue and its linkage to the poverty
reduction with the pupils of the SOS Hermann Gmeiner
School (a non- public school in Tirana). Two PowerPoint
presentations were given to the pupils of respectively
grades 7th and 8th on the first
day and those of the 5th and 6th
on the second day regarding the Al Gore movie “An
inconvenient truth” and on “Climate Change”,
held by the National Projects Coordinator, Ms. Mirela
Kamberi. Afterwards, the events were followed by the
movie show “What is greenhouse effect” translated into
Albanian language as part of the information and
communication activities carried out by Climate Change
Programme. Copies of the booklet “Climate Change, What
it is” and the 2007’s calendar were also distributed to
the pupils and pedagogical staff.
By the end, an invitation
was extended to the talented pupils on drawing a
painting on the topic: “This is my contribution
towards climate change mitigation…”.
